The escalator which is situated in the very centre of the building, goes only one way – up! It will take you directly to the Library, which is located on the two top floors, in the sunniest and most open part of the building.

The library is where a considerable part of all knowledge production and learning will take place. Here you will find optimal conditions for study, reflection and exam preparation: library, teaching and guidance services, access to quality controlled information and learning resources, and IT services.

Kongsvinger library opened in new premises in January 2009. The library is both a public library and a library for Sentrum videregående skole (upper secondary school).

The library is situated in the city park close to the river Glomma. This central location provides easy access to all the facilities the city has to offer.

In order to exploit to the full the library resources of Drammen and create a high-class, future-oriented library, three library organizations were brought together under one roof. Together they form the Combined Library/Drammensbiblioteket, which in turn is part of the Papirbredden Knowledge Centre, an integrated campus.

The new library building was completed in the beginning of December 2006 and the library opened officially on 2 March 2007.

The main library building is located in the Fokuskvartalet area in the centre of the city. The main street "Storgata" and the Cultural Centre are within 50 meters distance from the library which is also part of a complex containing the Town Hall and a cinema. The library collection is housed on four floors and a top gallery and shares the building with the City Archives. Because of its convenient situation and spectacular architecture, the library has become a natural meeting place for the local citizens, and a "must see" experience for tourists.
